Two lil ladies

Yesterday evening I headed up to my favorite park and met up with these two lovely ladies, M&K and their mom. The whole way driving up to the park it looked like it was going to rain. Luckily it held off. Miss K was more into playing on the playground then getting her pictures taken. And who can blame her? These two shots were my favorite from the night.

I got a message months ago from an old school grade friend who asked if I'd do newborn pictures of her baby when she born. I immediately was excited. I think of all shoots, I enjoy doing newborns the most. So I of course said yes. And then I waited...

When I got word that baby Olivia was here, I was giddy. I made sure I got girly backgrounds and a few cute headbands. Finally the day came to do the shoot. And Miss Olivia decided she just was not going to sleep. (I think girls are just feistier than boys when it comes down to it). But she was a such a sweetheart and soooo perfect. I had a blast trying to get her to "pose". Thank you, Becky for sharing your sweet baby girl with me for one day. Here are a few sneak peeks.

My Lil Bit

I have been wanting to try out some studio type shots for a while now but couldn't figure out where to set it up in our house. Today I figured rather than in the house, I should try in the garage. The lighting is beautiful. This is one shot from today of my youngest. He's not so tiny anymore but he will always be my Lil Bit.

Zeuss

As I prepare to head out the door for another shoot for A Scooter's ResQ, I was going over some of the shots from the last adoption event. This is Zeuss. Not only was a beautiful dog he was extremely cooperative for me. I hope going back today I will find that he was adopted.

LOVE

I know this style of pic is not for everyone but I absolutely LOVE the colors, the lighting... everything. I just had to share it. And thank you T for being such a good sport when I asked for one last shot. :)

Today I had the pleasure of doing a senior session with T. He was one of the most laid back kids I have met and I ended up having a blast shooting with him. I also got to sneak in a few shots of his little sisters. Here's a sneak peek. I hope you all enjoy!

Surgery Day

My youngest was born with a defect known as Megameatus. It is a variation on Hypospadias. We were informed before we even left the hospital with him that he would need surgery to correct his "boy parts". We knew it was coming. But nothing prepares you for the day where your child is taken back to an operating room and you know they are going to be scared and confused because you aren't there with them. That they will wake up in pain and want you, their biggest comforter, and they will be surrounded by strangers. It was heartbreaking. But we got through it and my baby boy is recovering well. It's amazing how resilient kids are.
